Besides showing the varied species that make up the different strands of Hair Algae, aka String Algae and Blanket Weed, there are several other common Green Protists. The blue highlight is an out-of-focus Pediastrium. The red highlight appears to be Scenedesmus, a colonial Protist, often found on the glass of home aquariums. In the green ring is Cosmarium, two spheres that appear to have smashed against each other. Inside the black ring is a four-pointed star shaped Protist that I am not able to identify.
