The white spot just to the right of the pointer tip is a food vacuole. The dark spot within it is the latest meal being digested. At about 9:00 or 10:00 is an out-of-focus yellow food morsel that has been impaled on one of the Actinosphaerium's spikes. That's the unfortunate next meal. At about 2:00 is an out-of-focus Vorticella that wandered by. The Actinosphaerium seemed unconcerned, and the Vorticella moved on. Back To Image Index Page
