The NaBlos of the Past:
2008: A Face in the Crowd? — [My cousin] Eddie was far stronger and more confident than his mother or his aunt would give him credit for. (And that, I think, could be said of all their children. We grew into ourselves in spite of our mothers’ efforts to limit us).
2007: Twinge — As I drove through the business district of [Middletown] borough I noticed the Christmas decorations — a lone lantern with a red bow — strung across the streets at each intersection. It was a clear fall day, with mostly golds and oranges in the light and the air fragrant with fall leaves, and the Christmas decorations looked out of place.
2006: Flashback — I hated the Seventies. Or most of it, anyway. I was a young teacher establishing my career and my independent adult life and it should have been a wonderful, energizing time. And it was for a time until the fall of 1972, when I fell into a deep depression that lasted more than two years. I functioned at work but at home I slept a lot and cried through the weekends.
Love it? Hate it? Just want to say hi?
