I found these things written on the back of the program from the Emily Dickinson International Society meeting in Amherst, Massachusetts, July 29-31, 2005. Thge focus of the conference was her interactions with the other members of her family. From Dickinson’s letters:
I write to you frequently, of which I am ashamed.
My friends are very few. I can count them upon my fingers, and have fingers to spare.
I have few pleasures so deep as your opinion.
